You are absolutely on the mark. For some EO a metric ton of aromatic will

produce 15 or so kilos of oil .. for some others it takes a few metric tons

to produce one kilo of oil. Melissa (Lemonbalm) is an example of a plant

that takes over a garden but has an extremely low yield when distilled.

 

For the floral oils .. those that are used primarily by the perfumers ..

dilution is CRITICAL .. the odor of a neat Rose Otto or Jasmine Absolute

will overpower your olfactory system. But those that are not used for

olfactory pleasure .. but rather as big bad bug butt kickers .. like Oregano

or Rosemary, Cineole .. neat is best .. dilution is totally wrong. Same

goes for those used to take care of symptoms like Eucalyptus globulus for

opening sinuses and such .. go neat with it .. a few drops in a cuppa warm

water then clasp your hands around the container and sniff. If you suffer

from asthma then you gotta be real careful because you might panic and lose

your breath.

I believe there was some olfactory memory or interpretation issues with the

original statement .. put the two side by side and there can be no

misunderstanding. ;-)

I'm sorry too .. we've been out of stock for some months now .. couldn't get

a drop this year and there is only one fellow producing it. Its endemic to

a little corner of SE Turkey .. not a lot of it growing and he was sold out

before he produced it .. who bought it? European perfumeries. ;-)

 

If I had a 200 kilo barrel today it would be gone in a month because half of

it would go to those on my Back Order Notification List. This is a problem

we run into from time to time .. I run out something and can't get it ..

then do get it and we are overwhelmed with orders and my folks work overtime

getting them out but folks still wonder why they have to wait. Like the

Hydrosols we recently acquired .. had over 200 back orders plus a lotta new

ones so it took a while .. but everybody thought theirs should have been

shipped first. ;-)

I agree that she needs another diagnosis .. doctors are not infallible ..

far from it. They practice medicine .. some are better practitioners than

others. I will always remember a Turkish friend who died of stomach cancer

... she was treated for ulcers for a long time. I was living in Turkey then

and when I finally went with her to M.D. Anderson in Houston .. it was too

late.
