Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I noticed many of you are producing your own products. I am too and although I am in the beginning stages, I am thinking about labeling. Do you have any leads on small batches of labels or the cheapest way to apply labels to your product. I am printing on my computer now and it is quite time consuming, so I was wondering what you all do. Thanks, Jen Maves
Guest guest
Jen it is a royal PITA. I used to print my own out then spray them with clear acrylic to keep tHE colors from running. I finally asked Staples and they will do 3 kinds of labels - the address label size, 30 per sheet, the 2 " X 4 " , 10 per sheet, and 1/4 sheet labels. The cost for color labels is $1.49 per sheet. They are glossy and non-running. With the cost of labels and ink, I am letting them do it. I can buy 1 sheet or 100,000. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Depending on the product I do a couple of things. For soap I just use the cigar band type label with card stock, printed on my computer. I like to use Publsher to create all of them. For lip balms and lotions I get the clear lables from Online labels. I have a color laser printer so they don't smear. With Publsher you can customize to your needs. I use the full size pages to make what I need in the size I need then cut them. I don't use the presized labels. You want them to look professional. I've seen some really sad labeling jobs at craft shows and markets. Guest guest
Thank you Gayla, That is what I am looking for. Doing your own is time consuming and I am not at the point of doing long runs. I am too and although I am in the beginning stages, I am thinking about labeling. Do you have any leads on small batches of labels or the cheapest way to apply labels to your product. I am printing on my computer now and it is quite time consuming. In the past I have used the Dymo Labelwriter, this system offers a great deal of versatility with regards to label sizes, it's compatible with a PC or a Mac. Included here is a link: http://www.eofficedirect.com/PDYM69120/Labelwriter-Duo-Pc-Connected-Label-Printe\ r.html--kFC I have graduated to Primera LX 810 color label printer, this is the best option if you are looking to grow your brand. If your goal is to distribute your products through wholesale and retail channels then you can successfully create your own labels that look very high end. The ink on the label does not run, this I know after testing several times. I use this to produce labels for my brand at www.GreenTerpene.com. Be well....Rachel
