Guest guest
Howdy Charlene, i know that herbs are the thing everyone is familair w/ but i thought > maybe you could help me w/this too. there is a plant that i would like to > get a cttuing of. i feel it is a kind of azealea, but am not sure. it is now > blooming. > Everything will not grow from a cutting .. but its amazing how many things will. Hard to say for the plant you are referring to but if you can get the Common or Botanical name you can do a Google check and get lots of info on it. > is it too late to get a cutting? how would i do it? any suggestions? > Not too late .. I just took cuttings of Blue Berries, Grapes and Blackberries last week .. have them soaking in water now and as soon as they begin to sprout (which should be soon) I will plant them and I expect them to thrive. I am a little behind on garden preparation this year cause Wild Turkey season opened last Saturday and the Crappie in Kentucky Lake will begin their spawn in the next few days. It will all fall together but in the meantime .. I gotta keep my priorities straight ;-) > charlene > Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
Guest guest
In northern Michigan , nothing is in bloom yet, unless you force the forsythia and pussy willow. Easy to do, just cut on a day when the sun is out and it's above freezing ( it brings the 'juice' up in the twigs. Cut on a slant, keep putting the flowering twigs in fresh water, watch them get blooms and leaves and keep them inside until end of May. By than, they will have enough roots to plant. At least here in northern Michigan , this will work. C-M

Guest guest
I am in Charlevoix, where we are expecting another blizzard this week...today I could see some splotches of grass and brown muck, but spring still seems so far away. C-M We woke up to fresh snow this morning, but it is supposed to be nice this weekend, with temps above 10 Celsius. We can finally see lots of bare ground in between the trees, but we still have lots of melting snow too. I am just ITCHING to get out there.
