Guest guest
Hello Group As I type,I am infusing Arnica Flower to make an Arnica MSM Cream and Arnica Salve. I would really like to make an Arnica Infusion with Vodka to take internally, but what I need is the expert info from someone on this group as to what is the right amounts to injest. Is there anyone who personally has made this paticular herb to take as an internal tonic? I understand Arnica can be very toxic and this is why I am asking. Right now I have a recipe of ..3T Arnica Flower(soaked in 2 cups of Alcohol) ..Shake every day at least 2 times- let sit 2 weeks ..take at 1 tsp per cup of water I know Arnica has had studies that show it is a immunostimulant, is anti inflammatory and analgesic. It has the ability to heal tissue, improves blood circulation, great for muscle strains and sprains. It can bring relief to rheumatic joints. I am suffering from frozen shoulder that can last up to 3 years! They do not know what causes it and there is no magical answer to fix it.Because I have been making lotions etc with herbs I have Arnica Flower on hand. Advise on usage and all info appreciated Thanks Colleen

The right amount to ingest is ZERO. Arnica is a wonderful herb on the outside, but NOT safe on the inside. Arnica creams even come with warnings against use on broken skin. The exception is homeopathic arnica, where you use extract in minute amounts. The memory of arnica, rather than the actual thing. Guest guest
> > Hello Ieneke Thank you. I knew that was going to be the answer, but wanted to see if anyone on the group had ever tried making it.I checked many sites and all were saying not to take internally without experts advise, and many of you are experts I'm sure. This would of been the first alcohol infusion that I would of made. I have been making lotions/creams infused with herbs for years. All topical treatments. I have made my Arnica Flower Oil that I infused and I will make a ointment and cream with the oil...that will have to do.I do know it is not to be used on broken skin. If any of you have suffered with Frozen Shoulder you would understand why I am looking for ways to help speed up the healing or relieve the pain. I am going to add MSM and Essential Oils to my Arnica for my use. The less ibuprofin I take the better. This condition can last for up to 3 years! thanks again Colleen > Colleen wrote: > I would really like to make an Arnica Infusion with Vodka to > take internally, but what I need is the expert info from someone > on this group as to what is the right amounts to injest.> > > Colleen, DONT!!! Guest guest
Colleen, I'm wondering if you're including some emu oil in your ointment and cream with the arnica? You might want to consider using it if you're not already. As I understand it the emu oil has the ability to penetrate the skin more deeply than anything other oil. I'm always very careful about what other ingredients I put together with emu oil because of this property. HTH! I do have some Emu here, although I don't use it normally for my creams it would be good to use it for this for sure. My husband had real trouble with his hands and I had bought it for him.
