In any form of basic training we must pitch to the middle of the group .. we will always be talking over some folks heads and boring others but we must cover our butts while giving them the safe way to do things. The tough part comes in when folks ask tough questions .. and when that happens its better to reply one on one .. not in front of a group and certainly not in writing. > i have used cinnamon, peppermint, lemon in food products. i was > wondering how it would compare to, for instance, lemon extract. > It can't because Lemon and other Extracts are almost pure alcohol. > i use a lot of this. what amount of eo would you suggest to replace like > 1t? > Yes .. Lemon Juice .. or Lemon Cold Pressed Oil if it is Organic or Certified Organic. We use a lotta EO in cooking and in sauces .. Ginger, Peppermint, Oregano, Sage, Rosemary, Basil, Lavender, Coriander, various Oils .. etc. We made some great venison jerky this year .. it has Sage EO in it. I say again .. I ain't met a soup that could not be spruced up a bit with a drop or three of this or that EO .. but keep in mind that a drop or three is all you need and more than that will make you have to throw out the soup .. concentrated fer'shur it is. One does not have to be a medical doctor to pass along cooking recipes .. but recommending or suggesting ingestion of any natural product to CURE a medical problem is a horse of a different color. Do I fear telling folks that we are now diffusing Oregano, Rosemary, Lavender and Lemon Myrtle in our home .. in hopes that if one of those whatever they want to call it flu bugs makes its way in the volatile molecules of those oils might cause it to go into retrograde .. to stop replicating? No I do not. At the same time .. because I don't want to fill your hard drive with what I think is logical support for my beliefs .. I will just say that there is no proof that it will work .. but also there is no harm in doing it and the odor is nice. Its sometimes in how you say it vs what you say. My grandpa used to joke about his old kuntry Baptist preacher .. feller said drinking whiskey would send you straight to Hell but there was nothing wrong with a little Toddy now and then .. strictly for medicinal purposes. Today however, we would have to avoid claiming it was for medicinal purposes. ;-) > thanx > charlene > Welcome fer'shur and y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
