Guest guest
I haven't tried it myself (yet), but I've heard that cedarwood oil will repel ticks. I know neem oil works as a pesticide, but I'm not sure how effective it is as a repellent. Guest guest
Here's some recipes found to repel ticks from dogs: 15 drops tea tree, 15 drops lavender, 10 drops cedarwood, and 4 oz. distilled water. Shake well before each use and apply liberally to dog's fur, avoiding the face. Or try adding just a few drops of rose geranium to your dog's collar. (Palmarosa can be substituted if you can't find Rose Geranium.) Finally, a recipe developed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission: mix 2 cups water, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup " Avon's Skin So Soft " and 1 tablespoon of eucalyptus oil in a spray bottle; shake and let the contents settle; then mist yourself and your pet. (This would be my least favorite because of the Skin So Soft, but might be worth a try if one of the others doesn't work.) You could also try feeding your dog garlic every day.
