Guest guest
Rivkah, An elderly cousin of mine had the same problem (nearly) she itched terribly, oozing blood out of the itched 'bites'. She couldn't find bugs anywhere, she was beside herself with 6 months of this and as many drs. Finally an allergist found out she had had 2 different kinds of medications, along with chemotherapy..these attacked her white blood cells and caused an auto immune problem. Her white blood cells are literally eating her skin. Finally, she is starting to heal, no more 'bites' that she thought was having. I'm sharing this just to say it's not always bug bites, apparently and an auto immune disorder may be mimicking bites. Guest guest
Hi, I'm a bit of a lurker in the group, but here I come out of the woodwork. I did notice no one mentioned the possibility of fleas? In the past, I had trouble with fleas in the bed, ending up with terrible bites in the middle of the night while my husband had none; they were usually from the thighs down, and seemed to have the most of them around the ankles and other exposed skin in that area. My dr prescribed hydrocortisone cream for the itch. As far as ridding myself of the pests, I do have cats, and keeping them locked out of the bedroom for good, a complete change of bedding, a good thorough vaccuming, and laundering of all clothing in the room seemed to do the trick for me, as I've not had a problem with them since, and it has been since 2003. Good luck finding and getting rid of your culprit(s). HTH, Mercedes , " rivkah511 " <j.rivkah wrote: Ug. I'm so frustrated. My 2.5 year old son seems to be absolutely delectible to some sort of bug that lives in his bed... He's been waking up with bites on his arms, legs hands and feet. We are putting him to bed in long sleeves and pants but he's still getting bitten on exposed parts, and I think he even had a bite on the underside of his penis! Help!!!??? Guest guest
IF, you think there's a possibility that its an allergy reaction, I heartily recommend trying benydril. We thought my son was being bitten by fleas. Took us a LONG time to figure out that it wasn't. Gave the kid some benydril twice a day (once in the morning, once before bedtime), he started healing up and stopped itching. We figured out it's a type of grass. But, it was AWFUL. Looked like bites, itched like bites and he would scratch until he bled. it was horrible. We have to do this every spring until the Grass is burned away by the sun or it's cut down. Guest guest
Rivkah, IF it is bugs.does he like Garlic? During the summer, I eat a pod a day, try to do so in salads, etc.,but sometimes I take a garlic tablet. Also, if he likes pickles or anything in vinegar give him a tablespoon of the juice. A tablespoon of vinegar a day makes your system unappealing to the little buggers. However, I doubt you can get him to take a tablespoon of vinegar by itself. Hope some of these suggestions from me or the others can help him. Anita
Guest guest
Texas had a bad break out a while back of bed bugs might want to check under his bed too they look like red bugs and leave red stains on the mattress. I saw recently in Washington also had a report of a major break out of bed bugs. You wont see them during the day they only come out at night and borrow in the mattress during the day. Just a thought always check under the mattress when your not sure where bites are coming from... pest control company will have to come out usually the only way to get rid of them is with a pest control company and throwing out that mattress. Good luck! *~Stormy~* --- On Mon, 6/8/09, Mercedes <Mercdownl wrote: Mercedes <Mercdownl Re: Bug Bites Monday, June 8, 2009, 7:28 AM Hi, I'm a bit of a lurker in the group, but here I come out of the woodwork.
