Guest guest
I have heard that essential lemon oils can be used for curing heartburn and acid reflux when taken daily and would like to hear or read more about this. thank you
Guest guest
I don't know about lemon oil for those things, but eating an apple, or a piece of apple will get rid of those ills. Also I found when I ran out of apples (I ate the last of my October harvest in April) that kefir will get rid of them too. Miserable stuff! I used to wak up at night choking on stomach acid. No more! Guest guest
Speaking as one who suffers reflux, there are no foods that will fix it. Reflux is when stomach acid gets into the esophagus. Initial exposures are merely uncomfortable, but over time the acid creates an intensely painful ulcer. If that ulcer doesn't heal it will eventually turn into a fatal cancer. Though no foods or essential oils will fix it, there are a number of foods that will make it worse and are best avoided. They include orange in any form, mint, anything that contains caffeine (tea, coffee, chocolate), among others. One must also change certain habits, for example, never ever stuff yourself, eat many small meals throughout the day, and never lie down within 2 hours of having eaten. It takes something fairly alkaline to counteract the acid, and very few foods are. In fact, soy is the only one I can think of. Soy milk won't do the trick (speaking from experience) but tofu might as it contains not only alkaline soy but also alkaline coagulant. Dairy milk helps initially, but research shows that it promotes increased stomach acid so drinking dairy milk or anything made from dairy milk creates a vicious circle. The only things that really work are antacids (baking soda solution and calcium carbonate, for example). Judicious use of antacids plus avoiding trigger foods and habits will eventually allow it to heal. Mine has.
