Guest guest
Lovely weekend I always reuse all my bottle, very few strong smell may be difficult to reuse I first soak them in warm soapy water, and then wash them and leave them to air for a few day, do not close them, and if the smell is still there, i wipe them with lemon oil and leave them again to air. then i have a sterilizer, i just put it in there for about 8 minutes, for me that works well, some stoppers may not be reusable, depends on what oil it was before. hope you find this helpful Jay On Sat, Jun 20, 2009 at 6:26 PM, K Slade <skydiva wrote: > > > Good morning! > I am looking to reuse empty essential oil bottles (they were old oils with > YL blends in them) which I want to start with new scents that I have custom > built. > I've tried everything .... washing with hot soapy water, soaking in rubbing > alcohol, soaking in vinegar, swishing salt water inside. nothing works and I > don't have a dishwasher. Guest guest
I wonder if it would help to leave the bottles out in the sun for a few days. I've done this to get rid of smells in the past. Guest guest
Morning all, As I frequently use my 5 - 25 ml bottles (after oils have been used) for bottle-feeding baby animals: I soak them in caustic soda first then rinse umpteen times to rid the containers of saponified oils and anything else. wash in (handcrafted, of course) soap to clean anything else hanging around, then dry heat sterilise them. I boil the lids (or bleach sterilise) and drippers.
