eliminating essential oil bottle smell

Good morning!

I am looking to reuse empty essential oil bottles (they were old oils with YL

blends in them) which I want to start with new scents that I have custom built.

I've tried everything .... washing with hot soapy water, soaking in rubbing

alcohol, soaking in vinegar, swishing salt water inside. nothing works and I

don't have a dishwasher. Any suggestions? At $1 a pop for a bottle, i'd prefer

to reuse rather see them go into the recycling bin. i'm thinking that the

plastic stopper and lid and beyond help.
