Hi Sylvia,

My daughter used to be on the school swim team and would have horrible problems

with her ears (and being sick in general) every swim season. I used olive oil

infused with garlic and mullein as drops to help heal and soothe it.

On that note, I've wondered about long term effects of chlorine for people who

swim regularly. I dreaded swim seson because it meant that my daughter was sick

all the time. I was NOT sad when she decided to quit the team. It just seems

that soaking yourself in that chlorinated water and breathing the fumes has got

to be somewhat toxic. Anybody know of any studies that have been done?

When my children were young they would have lived in the pool if they

could have. Our pediatrician recommended a mixture of 1/2 alcohol and

1/2 vinegar. Put a couple drops in each ear. We used this with success

every swimming season.
