I have recently heard that the family-owned Crosby Mint Farm in Michigan which

has grown mint and spearmint for generations is in danger of foreclosure.

 

 

 

They are asking that interested people buy a dram or more of their self-made

mint essential oil to help keep them in business.

Hi Karen, Folks.....

 

It seems to me I saw a similar plea from them last year also....

 

I did not respond back then, because the EO was kinda pricey as compared

to the market for mints in general...

 

And, I use very little mint (of any kind) in the overall scheme of

things....

 

Hope they are not figuring on making this as an annual marketing strategy...

 

On the other hand, this year has been rough, economy speaking, to a lot

of folks....

I spoke with the owner, Jim and I have tested the peppermint and spearmint oils,

definitely pure and natural.  The aroma and taste are very clean.  They also

have a fabulous dark chocolate peppermint toffey, it's really good!   They

definitely need support, hopefully they can save their farm.

time last year.  But the reality is that the supply chain tightened up around

the world and the demand for materials has diminished significantly.  I have

even read reports from some major players indicating that the flavor and

fragrance market is shrinking.Their prices are slightly higher than most but

they are a small farm with limited capacity to produce their product.  Jim told

me that their customer base was primarily comprised of Aromatherapists.

Mint Oil.

On 7/27 I sent Get Mint $50 for 2 ounces of Mint oil - which was very pricey.

But I thought that I was helping a farm stay in business. I have not as yet

received my order - I sure hope this is not their regular way to stay in

business.
