Tanya says that's a norm for me. ;-) I reckon lately its been more than a

norm cause arthritis is kicking my butt Big Time. Went to the doc's

office to get an appointment .. had not been there in more than a year ..

and they can't see me till 11 September cause my insurance .. Medicare and

TriCare .. dictate that I must see the same doc and he will be on vacation

for two weeks. I don't want their pills .. I want a shot in my knee and a

referral to a Chiropractor who can make my body straight for a while and

take pressure off my ankles and knees .. that does work. Thirty years of

running and jumping outta perfectly gud airplanes does take a toll on Ol'

Soldiers.

 

Last time I saw him he told me to get out of this chair in front of the PC

monitor and be more active .. I told him I was doing both. Climbing trees

to my deer stands, walking 2-3 miles afore the sun came up to hunt wild

turkey and such .. but I still had to sit in front of the PC monitor.

He said it was a wonder that I had time to do both .. I figure that's

the most enlightened information I heard come out of his mouth. ;-)

 

I am 67 now so I reckon its good that I have insurance .. if the Obama Care

program gets through Congress it might not be long before they decide that I

am no longer a productive member of society .. just a retiree drawing from

the gummit .. so things like a knee replacement or fusing my ankle will be

seen as unallowable treatment. Better to put me (and those like me) out on

an ice flow so we can do our share in ensuring the Polar Bears don't become

extinct. ;-)

Yep ... it comes up 10 or 15 times a year. The entire industry of

Aromatherapy and Essential Oils has a firm foundation .. of

misinformation. Just today I responded to a post from someone who was in

a panic and wanting to buy Pennyroyal .. this person had never been a

customer but apparently some time in the past had obtained some Turkish

Pennyroyal (Micromeria fruticosa) from one of my customers .. and she wanted

to know if the European Pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) would do the same

" JOB " . Naturally, I immediately felt a great need to both warn this person

about the dangers of ingestion of Pennyroyal .. and to Cover My Butt. I

sent her a post I had previously written on the false belief that Pennyroyal

was an effective abortifacient ..* *that it was an emmenagogue .. but also a

poison if ingested .. and even that is not to say that it would necessarily

harm a normal fetus .. a mother could die and a fetus could survive*.* So

she would not think I was nuts I explained that the nature of her request ..

coupled with the abundance of misinformation in the industry .. made me feel

a need to provide this warning. And I closed by saying that if she had any

intentions of ingesting the oil I would not sell it to her. Damn shame it

is when we must walk on egg shells to be able to sell an EO.

Go for it .. with my blessings. Ain't no way we can have too much humor in

even a serious conversation. Life is too short for all of us and I believe

it is shorter for the humorless.
