Guest guest
Howdy Mickey, > > > Hey there, for the first time ever I am growing nasturtiums, which are > flowering gloriously! > Surprised I am .. they normally flower gloriously in the Spring and then weakly in the Summer. > been reading up on all the things you can do with them, which seem to be > endless.... however my problem is mine are covered with green catapillars. > Loopers .. Cabbage Worms. Surprised I am that you don't also have Aphids. > Any idea of any cat friendly way to get rid of them? please don't say > pick em off individually **shudders**, > Two tablespoons of dish washing liquid in a half gallon of water MIGHT help. If it does help .. it might harm your other plants because just as the lead wildebeests are always sacrificed to the crocodiles when they cross a river .. Nasturtiums are also a sacrificial plant. Some folks think they will repel bugs .. but they got it backwards .. they draw them and keep them off the other plants. If you want to do nothing that is fine too because once they have seeded they will come up again next year. > Any help gratefully received. > Mot sure if I helped or not .. just told it as I see it. > Mickey > Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
Guest guest
Just get some BT - aka BAcillus thuringensis from the garden store, dilute with water, spray on leaves. Works almost instantly to make them stop feeding. The plants should still have time to regrow leaves. BT works against all kinds of worms, and is not harmful to pets or people. Good for tomato hornworms, cabbage loopers, all those critters. You can google to find out more. -- http://NaturalPerfumers.com http://twitter.com/anyasgarden
