Guest guest
obviously, I don't post very often. Right now my DH and I (well let's see our DD, DSIL, newborn GS and DS, 2 GSs -ages 5 yr and 6mo) are all sick with " summer colds " . It would appear that DD brought it home from hospital. OK, my question(s) go like this. What are your thoughts on flu shots - swine flu in particular? I haven't gotten a flu shot in several years, but have gotten sick the last 2 winters. I take MSM and oregano (Butch's) every day. Which leads to my next question. Should I take the oregano daily or should I wait until I feel something coming on and then start taking it? I was doing soooo good until lately. I have been sick twice this year (2009). I will be keeping the babies part-time starting in a couple weeks (already keep the 6mo old) and I just don't want to keep spreading things around! Someone please give me some good advice. Guest guest
As a naturopath, I recommend against using flu vaccines, as the risks of using them are prohibitive. Those who follow football often use the expression " the best defense is a good offense. " I recommend you go on the offense right now and start building up your immune system. Reduce your stress, decrease your sugar intake, take a good optimal daily multivitamin, self test for adrenal fatigue (ask your naturopath how), take fish oil supplements, get plenty of sleep each night (if needed, add melatonin and get rid of electromagnetic pollution in your bedroom), and consider taking an antiviral formula containing echinacea, goldenseal, and astragalus. These are all potent natural antiviral supplements - combining them only increases their potency. I also keep some oregano oil handy to sniff, and I make a throat spray with 5 drops of oregano oil in 2 ounces of distilled water in a spray bottle. At the first sign of sinus or throat distress, I start spraying a couple of shots on the back of my throat, as needed. Another thing you can do to really help yourself stay healthy is a course of MMS (the Miracle Mineral Supplement). It's inexpensive but invaluable. Read up on it at www.miraclemineral.org <http://www.miraclemineral.org/> where there is plenty of free information. (I am not affiliated with this website.) People with strong immune systems may get the flu, but they don't suffer from it as much as those who are suffering to begin with. As was recently pointed out to me, being healthy is easy. it's being sick that's hard! Make your life easy. get healthy!
