Guest guest
When is the best time to harvest herbs for drying? Is it before, during, or after flowering each year? Thanks, Deb
Guest guest
Most of the culinary herbs are best to harvest before flowering, If it is the leaf that is used, it will have more flavor before the plant starts putting energy into the flowers. Sometimes it is the flower that is desired, or even the seeds. It all depends on what part of the plant that you want. Guest guest
Deb, That depends on the plants. Most are picked before flowering. If you use the root part of the plant you wait until after flowering or before flowering , such as anything in the wild onion family.
