I do that w/my other oils, so makes sense. It makes sense cause that is what Aromatherapy is all about .. the inhalation of volatile molecules via the olfactory system and into the blood stream. We do NOT know what happens to an EO when it hits stomach acid .. I know of no studies on this. Aside from injection .. which is dumb .. inhalation is the most rapid means of introducing an EO into the body. Absorption .. with one or two dangerous exceptions .. is a Fig Newton of folk's imagination plus a misinformed marketing tactic .. ingestion might be dangerous and also might be a waste of EO. Massage can give us lots of warm fuzzies and its therapeutic for sure but massage without EO is also therapeutic .. because human touch is therapeutic. When we are being massaged with an EO we take in some of those molecules but its the giver rather than the receiver who gets the lion's share cause the volatile molecules rise. Same goes for putting this or that on the feet .. the skin is the body's largest protective organ and good it is or we would spend lots of time in the ER .. palms of hands and soles of feet are the areas that are thickest .. also not an accident .. think on that. > Thanks again for your insight. Welcome you be fer'shur. > Best wishes, And to you and yours. > Tammy Tivis > www.ElementsBathandBody.com > Wholesale Soap Making & Toiletry Supplies Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com .. Guest guest
Funny - I put about 1/2 dropper in a glass of water every morning and can hardly taste it. I will say I don't like it in OJ, though. Ruins the OJ. To each his own, right?? Guest guest
OMG, could not handle Oregano in water! lol OJ was better for me, but I've found that in Acai juice, not so bad @ all & can even get hubby to take it that way. Inhalation is great, though & much easier to get the whole family to participate that way. I think Butch said last week something about Oregano having a " pleasant " aroma? Yes, to each his own fer sure!
