Guest guest
Hey There My advice is to just use NVU, it's free and pretty easy to learn. Just learn the basic html you need. You can find this by a simple google search. Believe me you don't need much knowledge in html to do some serious business. Blogs are also great and extremely easy. There are even free blogging programs on the Internet such as Weebly or blogger.com For broken links there are link checkers. Just google it and you will come up with something free I am sure. I do my own stuff with various websites I own so it is doable. I am not young anymore and I was able to learn how to do it so I am pretty sure you can learn it too. If it's too much then you can always get someone from elance to help you out for a few dollars, but rest assured if you have the time, you can learn to do it yourself. I hope this helps a little. And don't worry about what people may say. Life is full of crazies so don't lose any sleep over them, they're not worth it. All the best Sharron http://www.serenearomatherapy.com Hi Kathleen and everyone, I am a DIY website owner - www.cocoonapothecary.com - because I am all that I can afford! I started with Frontpage but learned a couple of years ago that it was an obsolete program so I knew I had to learn something else to keep up with things. Fortunately, I worked at a magazine where they were kind enough to let me load the office's Adobe Creative Suite and I have never looked back. Dreamweaver is the web design program within this package. It's a beast to learn because Adobe has its own way of doing things that isn't like Microsoft but once you've learned it, anything is possible. It would have been really smart of me to take a couple basic courses before diving in but I have managed to learn some great things on my own. I also use Photoshop and Illustrator which are just fabulous for creating your own graphics. If you're going to take on your own website design and updating, learn these programs. I had a couple comments about Beadhussy: - when I think of the name Beadhussy, I think of an Etsy.com business. Something funky and sassy with a sexy retro-look. I think a vintage-inspired pin-up girl would look really great on your site, logo etc. - your blog could be more interactive with all of the bells and whistles such as archives, comments, and search engine optimization with a free blog platform such as Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. Good luck! Jessica Burman Cocoon Apothecary www.cocoonapothecary.com
