Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Since this post did not get to the list (seems to happen all the time lately), I've now had time to look in several field guides and I believe I've identified it with certainty. A question to be sure. Are the stems sticky? It appears to be Desert Trumpet (Latin: Ipomopsis aggregeta from the Phlox family) grows 1-3 ft. pointed petals/trumpet flowers in clusters, pinnate leaves. Blooms June through September. Grows in Great Basin and adjacent mountains to west in WA. Found in Peterson's Pacific States Wildflowers Field Guide.
