You don't have to eat them hot, but they should have been baked or otherwise heated at some point. Herbalist-Alchemist makes a nice bilberry spread designed to combat M-D, but it is a bit pricey. My darling mother, who passed away at Christmas, had macular degeneration. My heart goes out to you and I hope that your vision remains stable. dara
Guest guest
My DH's eye dr recommended Ocuvite Preservision and it helped. Alswo www.Swansonvitamins.com has a good one called Eyes Alive. Anything with lutein helps. Guest guest
I must reply to the blindness part of macular degeneration- my grandmother had it and so does my mother in law, and my gram was legally blind from it, only able to see dim shadows in bright light... - bearwallowsoaps Friday, September 18, 2009 5:35 PM Macular Degeneration-Doris I am definately a veggie eater and lots of chicken. I also take all of the Vitamins but honestly do not care for blueberries unless in a pie or muffins LOL Now as for Co Q 10. I just can not afford it. My natural aritritis tablets cost a lot too so can't swing both but have read about this. The " Bright Eyes " has the Bilberry in it but probably not enough. I also have to watch what I take since I am on HBP meds. Thanks so much for the info. To not frighten anyone, you do not go blind with Macular you lose your straight ahead vision but keep your peripheal vision. Doris
