Three found homes .. two to go. We are keeping 2 of the 7. Got a sign

out front now .. says Free Puppies .. 7 Weeks Old .. 2 Cute. We shall see.

That statement is either Elitist or Nationalistic or an Activist statement

... or maybe a combination of the three. ;-)

I am all for Buy American .. but there is little American to buy and trying

to avoid Chinese goods is tough today .. like trying to avoid gummit

interference in our lives.

Avoiding Walmart is also not so good for the workforce .. they be Americans

and though they might be treated shabbily by Walmart .. having no job at all

is a worst option.

If I wanted to devote time to being an activist .. I can think of forty

eleven better causes .. causes that could have a much wider impact on our

lives.

Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds are good dogs .. come to think on it

... all dogs are good dogs .. unless they are mentally ill, a bad dog is a

result of bad human treatment or improper breeding.

For 18 years in a row the AKC has determined that Labs (Yellow, Black and

Chocolate) are the Top Dog Breed. Second is Yorkshire Terriers, third is

German Shepherds and fourth is Golden Retrievers .. followed by Beagles and

Boxers.

Hope you enjoy your new home in the kuntry .. kuntry living is the way to

go.

I HATE Walmart. Not because I'm an elitist (well, am a BIT of a snob, but

have been known to lower my standards and shop there every now and again) or

an activist or Nationalistic. My biggest loathing for shopping at Walmart

(aside from the crappy way they treat their employees and the teeny bit of

snob factor) is simply because it's ALWAYS so crowded. Unless one gets up at

7 am. I'm NOT going shopping at 7am. The stores are always crowded, the

lines are always long and I always leave in a bad mood. When I go shopping,

I want to get in, get my stuff and get OUT. I'm not a lingerer.

I agree, most dogs are good dogs. Even the idiot dog barking at the top of

my stairs right now at the idiot boy barking at the bottom of the stairs.

sigh.

As for " Kuntry living " , I'm not really in the country. I'm in a weird spot.

I live at the end of a road that has quite a few houses. I live on the 3000

block. I'm the ONLY house on the 3000 block. There is only one house behind

us, walled behind trees, going up the hill to the neighborhood. We are the

end literally. To the side of the house is a small canyon, very steep, too

steep to do anything with, with a stream at the bottom. The stream curves

around the property which cuts us off from more houses. The previous owners

have wisely left the property treed which gives us the illusion of being in

a forest. Aprx 1.4 acres of our 2.4 acres is unuseable simply because it's

hilly and covered in trees. But the canyon and the creek make it " wild "

enough to permit the deer, moose and other critters to have a refuge in a

fairly populated area.

And yes, I'm happy. I'm VERY happy to be here. Although September has been

warmer than expected (80's and low 90s for the most part), I find that I can

bear the heat, cheerfully, happily without the slightest wistful thought of,

or hankering for, California. I like the space here. I like being able to

move, to drive, to shop (except for walmart ;-) ) without the tons of

people that seem to crowd into the shops in San Jose. Of course the

population difference is the big reason for the crowds or lack thereof.

I suppose this could be seen as " knocking California. " I'm not. California

is great for a lot of folks. They love what they have there. And good for

them. I was an unhappy fish flopping around in a desert. I am soul deep

happy to be here.

Any who. You sound happy with your " retirement " decision. Good for you. I

resonated with some of the stuff you said. Like losing strength because of

sitting on your butt. I have recognized myself, this past month. I have

noticed a lack of muscle tone that is going to be tough to restore. Mostly

because I'm lazy. But if I don't do something to restore some of my former

muscle tone I'm going to be very old before I should be.

Well, this short reply has gone on long enough. Too long me thinks. ;-)

Take care of yourself and I hope you find a good home for those puppies.
