Guest guest
my son brought this idea home from school - collect some leaves (green on the tree, not on the ground). get a new white t-shirt. put cardborad between the front of the shirt & the back. place the leaves as you would like them on the shirt. cover them w/a paper towel. i did not use a paper towel as i thought it would just rip up. i used the bag out of a cereal box. i just opened it up. i was a lot stronger & worked well. now take a hammer & beat the leaves to death, being careful not to move them. the color from the leaves, as well as the veins will come off on the shirt. put it in the dryer to set it. we did 2. they turned out really well. after putting it in the dryer the colors seemed to stand out more. one thing i did realize, though, it that if the leaves are too dry they will not release much color. so for the 2nd shirt i put the leaves in a bag w/a little water. then i patted them dry before putting them on the shirt. we are going to wait now till the leaves change a little more to do another one. charlene
