Howdy y'all,

I really appreciate all the kind posts sent to this list .. and the many off

line posts. I'm still working my way through some off line posts but I

need to reply on line now .. and the best way to do it is a consolidated

reply.

Thank you ma'am .. I will miss the group and all my friends and customers ..

but I'll still be around.

> I hope that we can trust " the new guy " to be as good as you!!!

Lots of folks are as good as I am when it comes to knowing the truth about

essential oils .. just maybe some of them would rather tell folks what they

want to hear rather than what they should hear. John is not one of those

folks and I am certain that he will gain every one's confidence in time.

> I do have a Young Living dealer in my little small town area, how to

politely convince my close friends that she is dangerous??

I'm the wrong person to be asking that of .. I've not yet figured out a

polite way to tell folks that the current administration in D.C. is

dangerous. ;-) Maybe John can deal with it as he has swayed many from

the YL cult.

> When I visited her little booth at the local festival, she claimed that

" Young Living oils are the purest oils there are, and the only ones you can

safely ingest and use on your face etc.... "

Yep .. sounds like a parrot she does. That's what they tell their peddlers

and that works for folks who know nothing about EO but folks who know even a

tad about EO immediately understand that a sales pitch like that means that

the parrot doing the squawking knows nothing about EO. According to the

YL Groupies, their oils are guaranteed to not rust, bust or collect dust and

they are Blessed by their Mentor.

There is only so much we can do for folks .. we can lead some folks to

knowledge but we can't make them think. If we take on correction of YL's

unsafe policies and corrupt marketing hype as a personal challenge it can be

mighty damn frustrating .. some of us tried that in the past so I speak from

experience. I believe I might be more successful converting Osama bin

Laden to Judaism than I could be converting " some " YL groupies to being

responsible practitioners.

I butted heads with the YL hierarchy for a lotta years .. but now I'm more

concerned about making my cat stop crapping in my garden than I am about YL

pushing " Rain Drop Therapy " . ;-)

In this unregulated industry there is great potential for harm to clients

when YL folks practice on others .. and in time the industry will be

regulated too much .. like is the case in Europe now. YL will be in large

part responsible for this. Big Brother is not very good at regulating

himself but he knows how to complicate things and create more useless levels

of oversight.

> She gave me a handout that made all kinds of quacky claims....very scary,

and even scarier is that people were buying it, literally, someone right

there spent over $65.00 on a detox kit...a friend of mine thinks that I

would just love her because I

> am into it as well. (hell no) and what does anyone know about her " detox "

foot soaks?

Detox in general is a great term if someone is planning a marketing hype

campaign.

Thanking you I am for being a good customer and friend these past years and

wishing you all that's good. :-)

Howdy Christy,

>> So .. effective 1 October 2009, I will not longer be the owner of AVNP.

> Wow. Ok, I knew it was coming eventually, but...wow. I understand why you

are doing this. Family, health, quality of life, that all has to come first,

especially the family part.

You are perzackly right!

> Butch, you will be missed. But I'm sure you are leaving things in capable

hands, as well.

Thank you ma'am .. and that I am doing.

> Thank you for bringing your products and knowledge to the AT community, I

appreciated you even more when I was a newbie, more than 10 years ago,

staying at home raising my new baby boy, reading about essential oils and

wondering what

products to us through your new owner.

My pleasure it was and welcome you are on both counts. I also thank you

for being a good friend and customer. :-)

Howdy Allana,

> Wishing you every happiness in your new phase of life, Butch. I hope that

you will enjoy every moment with your family and your land. Many thanks for

all the great oils and great advice you have provided over the years.

Thank you ma'am for the kind words .. and welcome you are for sure.

> I hope you will continue to contribute to this list and share your unique

point of view.

Unique is probably a good term to use .. long winded and opinionated are

others. ;-) I'll write from time to time .. especially when I see

something I know is unsafe .. as is the case for something just posted to

the list today.

> Stay well,

> Allana

Thank you ma'am .. and you. I appreciate your support over all these

years.

Howdy Diana,

to take over and keep things going and that you will hang around for a while

to help out too.

Thank you ma'am .. it was a fortunate thing and happy I am.

> Enjoy having more time with your family :)

I'm gonna do my best to do my best to do that. ;-)

Right on .. but don't forget Wild Grown .. many of the best (and purest) EO

are Wild Grown. :-)

Thank you ma'am.

I totally agree .. and I believe folks will give him the same support I have

had for all these years.

Howdy Ien,

> Dear Butch,

>

> You are a wise man, and your family is lucky to have you.

Thank you ma'am .. I reckon that's true about the lucky part but maybe I am

a bit more lucky than they are. :-)

As for wise .. debatable and even hard to define .. but as we age we do have

the advantage of having made more mistakes than the younger folks .. so I

reckon we have the best kind of experience. ;-)

Thank you ma'am .. I promise to do that now and then.

Y'all keep smiling. :-)

Wow .. lotta praise today. Not sure its all deserved .. but then I have

arthritis and I'm not sure that's deserved either. ;-)

Thank you ma'am .. appreciated. :-)

Good it is .. thanks for hollering my way. :-)

Howdy Dara,

> Dear Butch,

> That's a big change, but I am glad that you'll have time to fish and

> spend more time with your loved ones!

Thank you ma'am .. that is my intent .. starting as soon as I return from

Friendsville. Gotta sew in camouflage burlap around the deer stands and

plant a few feed plots in the woods. Got Tanya a hunting license this

year .. she has fired pistols but never a muzzle loader or a 30.06 .. but

its gonna happen in early November. ;-)

> I have no doubt that the new owner will do a fine job, but I will miss

Thank you ma'am .. the feeling is mutual and that I will do.

Appreciated it will be .. for sure.

I will do my best.

information you

Thank you ma'am .. and I do believe you. Busy I will be for sure but it

will be doing those things I have laid aside for too long.

> I am a super novice but enjoy all of the experience and information here

and

> hope that you will keep letting us benefit from your experience.

> Margot

Thanks .. I will stop in now and then. I have never commented on purely AT

matters .. I've took two AT courses many years back but I have never claimed

to be an AT Practitioner. My area of expertise (or interest?) in this

industry is rather narrow .. but I'll step in from time to time if I think

some input might be of assistance to a wandering soul. ;-)

Howdy Cindy,

> Wow Butch, it just won't be the same without your wit and wisdom, but I

wish

Thank you ma'am .. appreciated for sure and I hope to have time to do all

the things I have put on the shelf for many years now. :-)

Howdy Sue,

> Butch, I hope you enjoy a long and fulfilling retirement. It is wonderful

to see

> that you notice the physical changes and want to do something about them,

rather

> than give in to age (which is really just a state of mind as you are

proving).

Thanks .. for sure I'll not allow anything it to preclude me from doing

things I like to do. I told Tanya that if my arthritis ever gets bad

enough that I can't climb a ladder to a tree stand .. then we gotta hook up

a pulley of some sort and she can pull me up using the winch on my all

terrain vehicle. ;-)

> Will you still be participating in the group on occasion? I am being a

little

> selfish in wanting you to continue to add your 2 cents as it is too

interesting

> to give up that easy. Sue

Thank you ma'am .. I'll be around from time to time. :-)

Bet those of you who read this far are glad its over. ;-) I truly thank

all the folks on this group and other groups .. and throughout America and

other countries for their support of me and AVNP. If I missed replying to

anyone it was an oversight .. certainly not intentional and I apologize if

that be the case.

I believe that regardless of our occupation we must be concerned about the

reputation we leave behind .. for a fact one Aw Shit can wipe out ten

Attaboys in most any position we might find ourselves in. The motto I

chose for my Turkish company back in 1995 is also the motto of AVNP .. its

on the web site. " Practicing the Discipline of Business Ethics " . I

have tried to live up to that motto and I think that I will probably be

remembered as a dinosaur who did his best and told it like he thought it was

... and that's good enough for me.

Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-)
