Guest guest
I've been reading the literature this morning. When you quit smoking your blood sugar will plummet. At least this is according to a couple of sites I've looked at this morning. Quit smoking and your blood sugar will fall and rapidly too. How nice for me. EXCEPT, the past four mornings my sugar levels have been 155, 154, 153 and the final insult this morning was a number so huge I almost passed out looking at it: ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY FOUR! I've never even SEEN 194 before and 153 etc? Certainly not when I first get up, usually a couple hours after I've eaten. apparently smoking is GOOD for me! Wonder if I can get the quack to write me out a prescription for cigarettes. sigh K -- Kathleen Petrides Bead Hussy http://www.BeadHussy.com
Guest guest
Kathleen, Not to intrude in a conversation, but it sounds as though you are having what is called a Pre-Dawn effect. Your numbers rise just before you wake. I smoke too, and have been trying to quit. Kinda hard, hubby doesn't want to! (Grrr!) I have noticed, that when I go a few days without a smoke, my numbers do settle into the good range, and tend to stay there as long as I don't try to eat everything in sight! I did have my Dr. write a script for WellburinSR, for the cravings and mood swings, and it does seem to be helping as long as I keep Diabetic friendly snack around. (AND keep my hands busy!)
