Guest guest
Kathleen, Stress raises blood sugar. You get very stressed when you try to quit smoking. It will pass, but in the meantime, have cinnamon on your whole grain toast every morning to help lower your blood sugar naturally. If you do not eat toast, find another way to get a little cinnamon in your diet to help you. Also, do a little deep brathing to help you to calm down - it helps too. Guest guest
Hi Diana, I love Yoda. His philosophy was " do or do not " . To heck with trying. I have chosen to " do " . Thus far, it has been ridiculously easy. The first 24 hours were the worst of course but as I'm absurdly easy to distract, even that wasn't bad. I wonder if I have add. I'll have to check that out. ;-) Thanks for your kind note, cinnamon huh? Why not? It can't hurt. Despite waking up every hour on the hour (and I'm not kidding, every BLOODY HOUR), which explains why I'm up at six this morning, my sugar was almost " reasonable " at 136. My blood pressure seems to be taking a tumble though, which makes me happy. Last time it was measured (when I was smoking) it was 187/81. Which had me thinking about my will. I don't have one. But that puts me in the majority. No one likes to think about dying. Anyway, (I did say absurdly easy to distract didn't I?), yesterday it was 147/74. I'll have it tested again in a couple of weeks, but at least THAT'S going according to plan. and medication free too. Think I'll go sit on my deck and watch the sun rise. Thanks again Diana. Guest guest
Good morning Kathleen, Don't know about the smoking and blood sugar, but I do know about the cinnamon. It will indeed help control your blood sugar (may not " fix it " but help) -- I know this first hand. I take a cinnamon tablet (500mg) 2X a day. 2 yrs ago my blood sugar was on its way up and I started researching what to do -- cinnamon was just one of the things. I also dropped a few lbs -- my daily morning test has been under a 100 ever since. Those who have gastric bypass will also tell you that their numbers are way down -- that's because they are loosing weight. The other thing I did was stop eating anything white -- white sugar, white flour, white rice. Yes of course I cheat and when I do the number will creep up but I can say for me, the weight reduction and cinnamon have been the secret. Good luck and keep working at the no more smoking Rita , Kathleen Petrides <Beadhussy wrote: > > Hi Diana, > Thanks for your kind note, cinnamon huh? Why not? Guest guest
Um, I've heard from a couple places, that moderate smoking isn't bad for you. that one to two ciggies, cigars or pipe bowls of tobacco, are actually beneficial to your health. This doesn't mean I'm going to take up with any form of tobacco though! Also heard from the same sites, that one or two cups of coffee a day, are also good for you. The same goes here for me. No coffee. Just never liked the taste, but I do love the smell of it. Can't remember the actual site addresses, but they can be found by searching for " Health Sciences Institute " , with the quotes included. Bill Diana wrote: > Kathleen, Stress raises blood sugar.
