Guest guest
Hi Susan, Rivkah, I am a first year midwifery student in Canada. I just wanted to say thanks so much for sharing your stories. As a student, these are the things we love to read about and hear first hand. Our hearts are with you in whatever choices you make for yourselves and birthing. There is no right or wrong, just what's right for you!! I was just reading articles in homework and decided to check e-mail, must be meant to be. We have been discussing so much about choice of birthplace lately (part of the care we offer of course), and on a personal level, I am so looking forward on herbs and tinctures to have in my birth kit. I am a currently a certified aromatherapist. I do know a medical herbalist who trained in the UK, and am hoping over the next couple of years that he can help me come up with some must-haves for the birth bag. If anyone knows of any sites or has more information or stories on herbs and birthing, please post!! Natalie
Guest guest
Good luck in your studies. Eventhough I related my story which was one of a hospital birth, I have nothing against anyone who makes the choice to deliver in a more natural setting. I hope they do so with as much knowledge and understanding of any and all situations that may arise for the sake of the child and not simply to be " natural " , no different than people who use herbs and eo's with no knowledge but think because it's " natural " is perfectly safe.
