Guest guest
I rather like the recipe offered, but tend to avoid the animal fats (not a vegetarian, just don't like using emu oil). For those who have the hang-up I have may I suggest (and you've heard this before) using Macadamia oil. The skin regeneration properties are terrific. It is probably cheaper and has a longer shelf-life (3 years). Guest guest
As an alternative to emu/macadamia what would you suggest? My daughter has nut allergies! Can't use any of the nut oils. She has scars on her ankle from the insertion of metal due to a fracture. Guest guest
I also have nut allergies and I use jojoba a lot. An added benefit to jojoba is that it doesn't seem to go rancid. It is more of a liquid wax than an oil which I like because I have very dry skin. I have been looking at the soap makers sites and have found flax seed oil, hemp seed oil, grape seed oil etc. Bought some but haven't tried them yet as carriers. I remember reading somewhere that rosehip oil was good for the skin but needed to be mixed with another carrier.
