Guest guest
does anyone know anything about this and are there any oils or herbs that would help bring it down? I don't know anything about this, but a friend of mine is looking for natural ways to help bring this type of blood pressure down. She said someone told her (yl I think) that Neroli and wolfberries are said to have a beneficial effect. And she's been taking lemongrass tea, and a drop of lemon oil in salad or decaf tea. She's stoped drinking coffee, restricted salt, and is losing another 10 pounds. The number is generally 115-125, when she takes it. But at the doctor's it has dropped from 180 to 160, which is much higher than when she takes it herself. Her doctor is still pressing her to take medication, but she doesn't want to so is exploring natural alternatives. anyone help? Pam
Guest guest
Pam, This woman may be suffering from *white coat syndrome*. Now don't laugh and I am not being sarcastic. It happens to my husband. We were taking his BP regularly and it was fine. 118-122 over 75 or 80 most days. Kept log on the wrist BP monitor. He goes to the Dr for his CDL license renewal checkup and his BP is off the charts! Dr wants him on heavy-duty BP meds, etc. I'm screaming in the phone - NO! He comes home, gets the BP monitor, takes it back to Drs office and guess what - they had to put *WCS* in his chart! If he did not have me here and started taking those meds, he's be passed out on the floor! Don't know how she is taking her BP, but if she has her own monitor, she needs to take it with her to the Drs office for the next visit.... Guest guest
Its a good idea for those who have blood pressure machines to take them to their Doctor's office so they can calibrate it. Sometimes the numbers are off......so if you know that the doctors is 10 points different either way, you can figure that in when you use your machine. I know a gal who uses Hawthorne and Co Q ten , efa's and cayenne....Ive seen her give her mother cayenne when the pressure was up and by the time they got to the dr. it would be coming down a few points....minerals like cal/mag are good as well....carry aspirin of course but ultimatley I go back to the tried and true vs every new panecea drink, supplement etc....in some cases goldenseal can raise BP......licorice root......NO..... I do have some prickly ash bark to chew that was given to me by a friend who comes from people who know the plants of the earth and tho bitter, seems to work. Oh, and if you have hemmorhoids, no prep H. it has an additive that can also raise bp. It is known the pain elevates the bp and so does going to a doctor! Some people are fearful to go and their BP will spike. evie

I would guess the reason it's higher at the Doc'c is because she's uptight when the Doc takes it... Mine used to jump around like that... Unattended high BP like that, that spikes...That's can be stroke kinda waiting to happen... Other things do contribute, but high BP is a big player..... Voice of experience here...... -- Gary W. Guest guest
Garlic, cayenne and hawthorne. If have high blood pressure combined with high cholesterol, celery juice. Get ORGANIC celery and a juicer. Acupuncture can lower systolic blood pressure by 20 points in 20 minutes. The above herbs will also clean out your arteries. - " Gary W. Guest guest
One nice herbal combo for lowering blood pressure is hawthorn, garlic, cayenne and bilberry. This is the ingredients in the Strauss Heart Drops, read more about this formula here: http://straussheartdrops.com
