Guest guest
If you are stuck on what to blend I'd suggest a visit there. I'm not saying to dupe them but you can see how blends work and that store inspires me ! Just flings open that third eye door and soon I've got a blend I'm very happy with. I'm replying to the person who has part of a blend and was asking about what else to add (this is a loaner pc, sorry ,mine crashed). So far that blend sounds wonderful. I think tho its very important that we have some basic knowledge of traditional aroma therapy and tbe oils used, at the end of the day we create what works for us. I was thinking with the neroli , rose, chamomile one could add a soft base note like amber or sandalwood and a touch of vanilla absolute of vanilla 5th dark (its more cost effective). My kids do not know a world without scent. They are all adults now and naturally associate scent by ages, dates, events etc. I love it! I sure sold my oil cheap! I blended two ounces of 'that blend ' that YL has almost ruined the reputation of the blend 'thieves'. I sold my blend for the same price as the 15 ml! Its also good to see prices. That way you have an idea of the cost and I personally dont yank my customers. I sort of like that whole repeat sales thing LOL. evie

Hurray! But I heard from several people who found " Thieves " helpful, in one case for a stubborn chest infection that Echinacea didn't touch. So I am just curious: apart from the price, and the general dislike of YL, why did Thieves ruin the blend's reputation? And is the formula public, or a personal alchemical secret? If it your own hard-won secret, by all means I don't mean to infringe. But if it is public, do you mind sharing it here? I have a recipe for 4 Thieves vinegar somewhere but it was such a busy summer that I never got around to gathering the herbs. I even bought Oregano leaves at the Health Food store yesterday and they grow all over the place. Next year. Yeah, sure. Guest guest
no, its not a secret. I had joined an herbal group and simply mentioned the blend and instantly it was assumed that I was selling YL....and it was friendly. So that is what I meant by their ruining the blend and potentially creating the end of that blend being used. Stigma. That said, for those who DO sell YL for the benefit of cost cuts, I 'get' why they do join. If the product is good and it can be purchased at a good discount it would be sensible to actually join any number of MLM groups. I did that years ago with Nu Skin for ONE product LOL! You are lucky you do have access to blenders and no, I have no secret formula. The good thing is you can use other oils with the same active properties as well...if you a short one or two oils but have others that traditionally also work the same way then the blend should be fine. So, my post was clumsy and for that I do apologize. I didn't appreciate that I was 'assumed' to be with YL. I'm not sure why YL has ticked so many people off other than anybody can simply cut a check and start selling and do.......and that can be a danger to themselves and a menace to society but the person who joins any MLM for the reduction in cost I have NO issue with. Times are hard and money is tight. I sold mine for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too cheap. 2 full ounces for the same price as 15 mls...YIKES. I liked going to the company I mentioned because they tell you whats in a blend and take great care to disassociate their product from YL or other companies for a two fold reason and they do it with class...they simply change the name and do not bash anyone. And i like their cool stuff like jewelry, diffusers etc. LOL. Its been a long time since I used oils in that manner since I began to do soaps and balms etc and it felt GOOD to go back down memory lane and remember why I loved blending oils in the first place. Somewhere inside of me is an east/west/indigenous doctor LOL........dont I wish! Sadly, if something is pushed or people bring down the credibility of good product it then becomes 'old' and the trend begins to become 'fad' and I think the approach with MLM is rather 'faddish' . I sold herbs, oils, blends, teas, supplments and worked pharmacy as the herbal manager AND certified tech..which I still have to do continuing ed for. The good news is now on those tests herbs , oils and supplements are NOW being validated and more known in the medical community which pleases me to no end. I have few secrets and still much to learn. The day I know everything will be the day I will 'check out' and that is the beauty of this. For me? This is spiritual and with what I do I hope beneficial not only to people but to the earth as well. Now I do this in honor of my daughter and grandbaby who passed in 2007 from what I believe was over kill in antibiotics and malpractice that allowed a 24 year old who looked radiant 3 weeks earlier to ICU giving birth to our grand baby who passed after 8 hours and five days later we would have to dc life support on my daughter. My 'reason's have been altered a bit, the mission statement is still the same. My motto is one we've all heard...'if you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem' and 'apathy is lethal'. Its come time for all of us in what ever tiny space we occupy be it home to the workplace to change what we use and how we use things. Finally, I have NO problem sharing what little I know with anyone. I am by no means a scholar nor will I ever be. I simply chose to raise my kids in an alternative manner and now they practice what they learned in their own lives to include herbal teas, diffusing oils , color, and sound to change their environment and neither two can use store made shampoo's or soaps, perfumes etc...either they make it or sucker me into doing it! Sorry if I crashed thru the door. You guys will find in time I'm a total goof, a mush at heart and never mean disrespect to anyone. Birch Hill has a store similar to one I've dreamt of. I'll never have it at this age but sure is fun to dream about LOL. I also have an 'open door' policy in sharing..if we are to help establish balance in that space we occupy, I think keeping that info is not helpful at all. Sharing spreads and therefore affects a greater change. I'm a 'Zen' seller. I dont compete. Actually there are several stores I LOVE to visit and and I want them all, everything! I am formulating a hair and skin system I probably will keep some info to myself but that has nothing to do here on this list. I'm not that special. I'm just glad ya'll let me join. There is some great info here and as time goes by more and more beneficial informtion is proven on some of the old things doctors and others thought hooey and there's more to come! hugs ,, Evie
