Guest guest
Hi Folks..... I've got a neighbor (not known) who has been walking his dog regularly, which is a good thing to do for your pet.... Unfortunately, the dog has picked one corner of my yard as the depsotory station, and its owner is less than fastidious.... Any ideas of an EO solution to get the pooch to change it's choice of depository...... This is out of doors, but I'm willing to apply daily...... Any ideas would be appreciated.... Care... -- Gary W. Guest guest
Take one two by four and apply daily to neighbors head until behaviour is changed. Some people SUCK. Aromatically? I'd go to the petshop and get some bitter apple (bitrex?) and pour it on the lawn in that area. Then I'd make the neighbor drink some, after the application of the two by four of course. violently yours, K ;-) On Mon, Nov 16, 2009 at 11:49 AM, Gary W. Guest guest
They aren't supposed to like citrus. How about mixing up some orange essential oil and spraying the area, assuming of course, that orange peels are out of the question. Guest guest
And here I thought maybe you were still out of commission with all the illness in your household, Kathleen. Looks like you've recovered and are back to snuff . . . How about the rest of your brood? Gary, make sure any of these suggestions don't kill your lawn. I sometimes get a rather odiferous product that you can hang on branches that is made from the urine of large cats . . . Keeps deer away. It might keep the dog away. They last about a season. Guest guest
I would first speak to him about it. If that does not work, park a pooper scooper in that corner. If he does not get it, remove feces and move to his lawn. Guest guest
Gary, Not EO's, but they can work. Skunk essence works for a lot of dogs. Unfortunately, humans also dislike it. Black pepper or maybe even crushed red peppers, sprinkled around the area, does wonders for a lot of animals. Lemons and orange rinds will keep most animals away from my garden. Now, what I used one time when a neighbor did the same behind my mobile home. I took a chair and a table out there. I then took some cleaning tools. Finally, I took an unloaded handgun and rifle out there. I made certain I had my Firearm Owners ID(FOID) on me. I started cleaning these guns. Actually, I wasn't really cleaning, but faking it. The neighbor came out to walk the dog, saw the guns, screamed and went back to her mobile home. A few minutes later, the police and park manager came for a chat. After I showed my guns to them and the FOID. I told them the woman insisted on walking her dog on my property. That I had just decided to clean my guns that day, out in the sun and warm air. The park manager had told her numerous times to stay on her property. He did so again. This time, the police backed the manager up and told her if they ever got another complaint about her. She was going to be arrested and taken to jail. She agreed to stay on her own property. I did nothing illegal at all. The guns could not have been fired and there was no ammunition near me. I did feel kinda bad about the woman having a stroke a couple weeks later, but she was very elderly and I suspect slightly senile. She never came home and the daughter sold the mobile home. At that time, I had done everything I could do, to keep her off my property. es, I had complained to both management and police numerous times. I just upped the ante a little bit and it worked this time. Now that I know how to keep stray dogs and other animals off my property. I'm not worried about that situation happening again. Plus, now no one would walk two or more blocks, just to walk their dog or cat here. Plus, the neighbors don't walk their dogs and I am friendly with all their dogs except for one. He hates my truck! One of these days, I will hit him. By accident I assure you. As I hate killing animals! Bill Gary W. Guest guest
um.......is there a way you could make some little fizzie tabets to relase not so nice mint or mint/pepper? Probably would work best on a cat...but MAYBE if you poured your own urine that might deter it or...sprinkle cayenne pepper over the yard so when it sniffs....that and black pepper to sneeze it might go away....and then there are those invisable electrical fences. i had to go to one to keem my escape artist IN. NOTHING could keep selkie from getting out...and she could dig to china.......there was a pond next to us she simply had to swim in...(lab). the fence worked......until she learned how to sniff the wire and was able to tell if it was on or off so we'd switch those days to confuse her. She could climb a six footer and tress to boot. but that was about all we could do. what else do dogs not like the scent of? what about sulfur? evie

Guest guest
I've always had luck with mothballs. Use to sprinkle them around my mailbox. I like the idea of moving the 'matter' to the offending neighbor's yard...but I think the message would be clearer if left on his porch - with a note explaining the offense and the preference that he walk the dog elsewhere AND take responsibility for it. More than likely, he's assuming you haven't noticed. HTH Blessings, Beveg , " Gary W. Guest guest
Bad idea about putting that doo doo on his porch. Then they can get you for trespassing. Something you may not be able to get out of. I prefer to just take out the owner on your own property. Barring that, it would have to be the offending animal. Mothballs are also poisonous to your own animals and not advised if you are organic in anything. Kids can see them and place the mothballs in their mouths. I prefer something all natural or something that the police can't get you on. Like the skunk essence or cleaning the guns in the area involved. Just don't point any guns at the human or animal. Well, unless the animal is there without the human. Now, I do have to say I love all animals, except for maybe certain ants and scorpions. Bill Beveggie wrote: > I've always had luck with mothballs. Guest guest
Believe it or not, there is an actual sign for this. I found this on Amazon but they are probably available at any pet store. http://www.amazon.com/POOP-ZONE-Sign-clean-signs/dp/B001A2HNZ2 Cynthia , Eviemat52 wrote: > > How about a sign placed in the preferred area stating " No Dumping " (I > couldn't resist...) the other Evie > >
