Guest guest
Howdy Jenn, Virginia, Melissa, Kathleen, Gary, John .. and anybody I might have missed. Regarding my questions on the above ... http://health./message/55943 Thanks for your input .. I am now convinced that eating grapes and raisons .. along with some other human type foods .. is potentially harmful to many dogs and definitely harmful to others. Two folks wrote me off line stating that they believed they had had dogs die in the past .. before this information was put out .. from eating grapes. It is still unknown why this is a problem for many dogs but it is enough for me to be convinced that I need to fence in our grapes .. Labs are notorious for eating lots of fruits and vegetables. We have 5 dogs now .. 4 are Lab pups ... and I was considering having a chain link fence installed to keep them in our 2.5 acres ... we have had one pup killed on the county road in front of our place. But .. the price of chain link was shocking! Plus chain link is kinda tacky looking on country property .. so we went with an underground system from Invisible Fence. The cost was 30% of what chain link costs and it DOES work! Dogs are taught to avoid flags around the property .. when they near a flag they hear a buzzer .. and if they get closer they get a very mild (harmless) shock. I know it is mild because I put the device on myself and tested it. After the first day they would not approach the property lines. We are slowly removing the flags but the company says I could turn off the system and use just the flags and the dogs would stay in. ;-) I have no financial interests in this company .. just wanted to testify that it does work .. and they have a guarantee in writing that if it does not work .. they reimburse. We gotta do our best to take care of our furry friends .. they do their best to make us happy. Again .. I thank you all for the input. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com
