The original article was not satire .. the original subjects were politicians and professional athletes. ;-) Actually, most children are able to calculate and evaluate options regarding the old saying, " If you can't do the time .. don't do the crime. " Example: My Alexander turned 3 years and 10 months old 3 days ago. Punishment for him is a timer clock we have on the refrigerator .. he does something wrong and I tell him to set the timer. He then asks how long .. we tell him (5 to 15 minutes) and he climbs up on a chair .. sets the timer .. and retreats to his chair to sit out his punishment. This is terrible punishment for a kid who normally moves around like a Peregrine Falcon with its tail on fire. Couple of days ago he was eating a jelly beans surrounding a Gingerbread House that Tanya made for him. After eating a half dozen he started to get one more and I told him .. not till after supper. He looked at me with a grin and started to reach for another jelly bean. I said, " Boy .. if you take that jelly bean you are going to sit it out for 5 minutes. Alexander climbed up on the chair .. set the timer for 5 minutes .. went back and grabbed the jelly bean .. and retreated to his punishment chair. ;-) When wayward politicians and professional athletes learn to accept what is coming to them without whining .. we'll be ahead of the game. ;-) > Kathleen Petrides > Bead Hussy > http://www.BeadHussy.com <http://www.beadhussy.com/> > Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
