Guest guest
Merry Christmas to ALL! Well, we are all snug and warm in our home. We walked to my sisters (a couple city blocks away - except we live in the country and we don't have blocks). Had a nice supper and visit, then walked back home. We had gotten 8 inches of snow overnight Wednesday night and then through the day Christmas eve there was just light snow, then some light freezing rain. Neighbor plowed us out as we are awaiting the Sears repairman (suppose to be here Monday) to come fix our Snow thrower attached to our Lawn Tractor (Carborator went haywire Overnight we got about another foot of this white stuff!! They tell us we could get another 8-12 inches more between now and tomorrow (Saturday). Our neighbor will come sometime Sat or Sun to plow us out again since we aren't going anywhere today. I'll try to take a few photos later on to show some of the snow depth once it's all done snowing. Winds are howling, but we are in a little 'niche' surrounded by a lot of trees from the direction the wind is blowing, so don't feel much wind here. The temps aren't bad at just around freezing. We have had rain, sleet, freezing rain and of course snow all within just an hour. Right now it is snowing a ton! Christmas is quiet for Al and I today. Except for our new little puppies. Tanzi and Aggie (papillions) are almost 5 months old. They have been quite a joyful addition to our lives since Nov. I'll check in again later on today or tomorrow. So far no power outages but there are some high winds that could cause problems with our power lines. In areas next to Lake Superior - like Duluth, MN they are having wind gusts to 50 mph. They will most likely be the area to be out of power. We know other areas of the country are experiencing nasty weather too, but we hope everyone is safe and having a good time with family or friends. Again, Merry Christmas to one and All. But they say we could get upto 2 feet of this stuff by Christmas night. It's not so much the amount but the visibility when the wind blows 30-40 miles per hour. And the gigantic snow drifts that form. > > We are definitely having a White Christmas. > > So is most of the East Coast too, as you folks just went through a Nasty storm last weekend. > > We were to go to my sisters for Christmas Eve Lutefisk and Swedish Meatballs supper about 35 miles away, but instead we are staying home and will fix our own feast here - even if it is just me and Al and my other sister and her boyfriend. > > Merry Christmas everyone! Guest guest
Hi Penny, And here in Perth we are expecting it to be 104, which is way too hot for my liking, so snow sounds really good. Hope you are all tucked up safe and sound Virginia West Aussie > We had gotten 8 inches of snow overnight Wednesday night and then > through the day Christmas eve there was just light snow, then some > light freezing rain. Guest guest
Hi Virginia, WOW!! That temp (104) would melt our snow - PRONTO! It is very nice here today. Around 20F for a high. Sunshine and a little breezy. But all around not a bad winter day. Now the rest of the winter can stay quiet as far as I'm concerned. They tell us though it is to be below zero by the weekend after the New Year! Brrrrrrrrr! Off to do a few more odd jobs before ending for the day. Penny Your One Stop Aromatherapy Shop!
