Guest guest
Yeah, you read that right. I have a bottle of half white vinegar, half water with about 20 drops of the above oil in it for cleaning my counter tops. My husband thought it would be alright to let the baby play with the bottle...after all, its all natural <DOH!!!> Ok, so husband is not all that up on the safe use of essential oils Anyhow, the bottle opened up and where ever the mixture soaked through his clothing he is all angry red. Some on his cheek, down his right arm and leg. I was actually really surprised since there wasn't that many drops in the bottle AND it was soooo diluted, but there ya have it. He is not in pain or uncomfortable in any way, but is there anything I need to do, watch out for etc? We put him in the tub and bathed him. I was hoping the water wasn't going to make the oil spread around, but it did no seem to. I am going to go kick DH in the pants now and I will check back later to see if I have any responses. Oh and the baby is 14 months. Chris, I was just going to email you directly, but the last time I emailed you a few months back the email got kicked back, so I must have something old on file. Guest guest
Hi All, I just wanted to report back that the angry red was gone within about an hour and when he woke the next morning there wasn't even any pink. Like nothing had happened. It obviously was not as bad as it initially looked. So, all is well here. And hubby learned a lesson too! Guest guest
I know this is a little late, but I had a similar incident with peppermint oil and my husband. We put olive oil on a cotton ball and rubbed it where the peppermint was irritating his skin and it gave him immediate relief. At least your child wasn't hurting, my husband whined like a baby!!!
