Guest guest
Hi again: So much for short notes.... Forgot to mention that how I use butter in a formula seems to help it hold longer witout going bad. And I've learned not to use it with evoo. The price of evoo has run up so much over the years and the shelf life is so short, that I buy it for cooking only now. Bring butter to a melting point completely in formula and then chill. But not before using a preservative at the end of the process before chilling. My favorite way to chill a product is crude but effective: on the air conditioner vent in the Summer. That way, it does not pick up smells or give any off in the frig., and I can check regularly for solidity. Have one of those space age dethawer metals over the vent and it conducts coolness like a freezer. Cool things! Have used several preservatives over the years, but have stuck with Optiphen for several years now. It supposedly is the most natural, altho there is no Natural Preservative out therem and the person who makes one will be rich indeed! A most fragrant evening to ya, deb
