Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this forum and from UK but have been a member of the Iodine Forum for 2 years. I am 48 and have had chronic fatigue for 20+ yrs It became much worse after my 3rd baby and a course of Hepatitis B vaccines in 1990 when I was nursing. I gave up on orthodox med a few years ago when I realised I was never going to get anywhere as they refused to acknowledge anything wwas wrong and was " just not very robust and should accept it " ! I didn't and wrote to the Brit Soc for Eco Med and had a letter back telling me that I had multiple sensitivites which was giving me the symptoms I had. From that day I have not looked back my health is much better though I still have some way to go. I have a particular interest in nutrition in relation to autism, cfs, cancer, electrosensitivity and mcs and yeast/fungal overgrowth. Recently I was under the gynae for heavy bleeding as I have a small uterine polyp. He was keen to remove this but due to my reluctance to have any surgery under GA I declined and he monitored this for 18 months and as I was then not bleeding and the polyp had not changed I was discharged. The bleeding got worse again until eventually it was so bad I was desperate for help as it was almost impossible to manage and I was getting tired. I put it all down to the menopause so began to research this and quickly discovered (and also talking to a nutritionist) that vitamin K deficiency could be my problem. Hey ho! It worked and the change has been quite dramatic. No abnormal bleeding whatsoever and I dont think I am being too hasty in saying this. I have since researched even more and found that K2 and D3 is now thought to prevent osteoporosis which my mother has and is on Warfarin which works by stopping it working!. The interesting thing is that I was ill for 6 weeks with salmonella when I was 7 and remember lots of foul tasting medicine. I think these were strong antibiotics which gave me poor gut flora and the body makes its own (80%) of vit K using good bacteria! I have always bruised easily and think this is why - have been deficient for a long time. I would suggest anyone with bleeding problems researches this. It also helps with memory which was getting very bad. K2/D3 works by putting calcium where it belongs in bones and teeth and not in blood and tissues where it causes havoc especially in the brain! I hope this helps someone! Adrienne.
