Guest guest
I make these bags for friends and family, too! I use rice and think the flaxseed would be nice. I have put lavender in mine and rose petals. The lavender can get prickly and stick out the weave of the cloth. The rice holds the scent really well and is slightly moist heat. I think the flax would have too much oil to hold eo. So I would add eo to rice (mine is holding up really well) and then mix that in with the flax. I don't put herbs etc anymore, because of the prickly problem. I made a really nice eucalyptus, lemongrass and a little peppermint for colds and put lavender in it just to make it nicer, I love it when my fibro is flaring up and the kids love it when they are sick. These still smell good after 6 months. I use tube socks and a rubber band. Pretty " old school " J Debi Yes, flaxseed neck bags continue to produce moisture even after the bags have been " nuked " many times. This is why we love them so much. Not everyone likes scented bags, but I happen to be addicted to lavender. I'll keep trying to find a method for anchoring the oils. Thank you for your suggestions.
