Guest guest
I made a hand balm this past winter using coconut oil, beeswax, and a few other things. It was really nice - made my hands nice and smooth, did wonders for my cuticles, and soaked in very nicely. (and of course, it was great knowing EXACTLY what I was putting on my hands). It was a 'waxy' sort of balm - solid, but melted with body temperature. Yesterday, with the bit of the warmer weather we had (hooray!), the container I had in the car seemed to be melting - it was a much softer than it had been. So now I'm wondering what I need to add to keep it at a solid state in the warmer weather More beeswax perhaps? Any idea of the percentage of beeswax to the other ingredients to avoid this melting? Or perhaps there is another natural ingredient I can add to raise the melting point? Thanks very much for your help. I've been doing a lot of lurking here, learning a lot and trying to put some of it into practice. How did we learn this stuff before the internet? I'm just thrilled to be able to tap into so much expertise. Thanks, Nan
