Guest guest
Davida, after you've ensured that there is nothing else wrong, the best thing I've found for any type of swelling is a clay poultice. I use Green Clay add some macadamia oil (to assist in taking some of the smaller molecules into the blood stream), castor oil (for its added drawing properties), add enough water so that you get a consistancy of tooth paste. I put the poultice all around the area needing attention and lightly cover it. If it is possible do this up to 3 times a day. Once the clay covering is removed throw it away or put it in the garden (the minerals will be great and any toxins will be eliminated in the soil), do not re-use. Good luck Regards Merinda Don't burn your bridges until you have built a pontoon
Guest guest
I totally agree with the advice to see an MD in order to rule out blood clots. But meanwhile, here is a harmless folk remedy for sore knees that actually works for some people. I learned it from my all-time favorite Home Support client who was a natural heath fanatic. You need some rags of pure wool, and some of either cotton or linen. Wet the cotton or linen rags with luke-warm water. Wrap around the knee. Wrap wool over it. Now I can't remember if she tied plastic over that, but the key is the damp cotton and wool. Somehow the wool wicks the swelling away. I told this to a young woman I met in the Hot Springs here. I saw her again a few weeks later, and she told me it had worked! Worth a try and harmless, like any good folk remedy. Guest guest
One more thing that I don't think I saw mentioned....if you go to the doc and they say they can't find anything, TEST FOR LYME. My niece had knee swelling for 5 years and they did 3 orthoscopic surgeries because they thought it was connected to a basketball injury and then they found out it is Lyme disease and it's too late. She had some intravenous antibiotics pumped into her chest and she was allergic and now her whole body is a mess and she will never be the same. Always beg them to test for Lyme when something strange pops up that nobody can diagnose. I also have it, and mine was self diagnosed because my foot became swollen and red for no apparent reason and I had tingling and numbness in my arms and legs. They thought I was CRAZY and I made them test me for Lyme. It was 2nd stage and I almost got it too late. GOOD LUCK! I hope it is nothing serious. Lyme, if caught early, is easy to stop. I suggest you see a doctor though. I don't want to scare you but it could possibly be a blood clot that has formed. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Sharron Have no clue what happened - don't remember twisting my knee or injuring it in anyway. But right above my kneecap it's all swollen - looks like somebody put a balloon in it. I've been using peppermint oil and lavender to try to take out the swelling - anyone have any ideas what I could put on it to take out the swelling? It is 'hot' but not extremely hot - and its not painful - except that I can't bend it really well, so now my calf is hurting because I've used those muscles. any help appreciated.
