Guest guest
Hi all, I am looking to make a blend for my face. This dry winter air has been harsh on my skin. I started putting olive oil on my face before going to bed and it has made my dry skin quite soft. I also use rose water as a toner. So I thought about adding some oils to the olive oil and I am having a hard deciding which oils to use. I would like the most effective oils for skin elasticity or regeneration to help reduce fine lines. I want a simple blend, any suggestions for the best oils to use? I know there are many oils that would be beneficial but is there a combination that would work really well with each other? Thanks for any suggestions! Guest guest
You can get antioxidants from most essential oils but you will want something gentle - my preference is rose absolute because it has more antioxidants than rose otto. As far as promoting collagen and elastic production, that comes from the carrier oils that you use. Olive oil is great because of it's oleic acid content but I would also recommend rosehip oil for it's vitamin A acid content and I have also read great things about vitamin C ester (vitamin C palminate). Almost every carrier oil has vitamin E which is great for cellular regeneration. For any good anti-aging routine, you MUST exfoliate daily. This will increase skin cell turnover. If you can melt in some butters (shea, cocoa etc) even better because they contain all the vitamins and antioxidants that don't always make it into carrier oils. Looking forward to hearing from others about essential oils. Guest guest
I personally add carrot seed essential oil to my face creams and it is awesome. It is supposed to be good for lines, wrinkles, anti-aging. Smells kind of strong, but you can cover up the smell with orange oil which is also good (except don't go in the sun directly after putting it on or you could burn). There are lots of Eos that I hear are good for skin, haven't tried any others out yet, but will do so soon! Good luck. Guest guest
I thought about adding jojoba but now that you mentioned it vitamin e or butters would be even better. Rose is definately at the top of my list for eo's. I totally agree with you on the exfoliation, sometimes I tend to over due it to remove the dry skin and end up with red irritated skin.
