Guest guest
Hi, I read some comments about Canada having lower standards in health care than the US. News to me. I have never had any problems nor do I know anyone that has. I am surrounded by cancer survivors that received the best care possible. My hospital birth had one nurse with me the entire time, a team of professionals during labour - all in a private room with a TV, couch and jacuzzi tub. Not saying we're perfect but I honestly can't complain. I know there is a lot of propaganda out there so I thought I would throw some statistics out there. From the World Health Organization - collected between 2002 and 2006. Hospital beds (per 10,000 population) Canada - 34 USA - 32 Nursing and midwifery density (per 10, 000 population) Canada - 101 USA - 94 Physicians density (per 10, 000 popluation) Canada - 19 USA - 26 Adult mortality rate (between 15 and 60 years per 1000 popluation) Canada - 72 USA - 109 Life expectancy Canada - 81 USA - 78 Infant mortality rate (per 1,000 live births) Canada - 5 USA - 7 Maternal mortality rate (per 100, 000 live births) Canada - 7 USA - 11 Except for the doctor density, I guess we're not that bad off after all:) Not to be alarmist or anything but this planet seems to be heading towards something cataclysmic. It may happen or it may not but I can assure you, individualistic attitudes are doing us no favors.
