If you're like me, then you suffer from the occasional back-ache. About 6 months

ago my son developed a pain cream that he created for his tennis elbow. He gave

me some to try for my back and it works! This is an original recipe, but I can't

take any credit for it.

He decided to share it with me, and I am now going to share it with you.

Ingredients:

1/2 oz beeswax

2 oz lanolin

1/4 cup wheat germ oil

2 tbsp emu oil (you can get this at a health food or herb store.)

1/2 tsp cayenne powder

1 tbsp arnica powder or dried herb (double if you have it fresh)

2 tbsp cramp bark powder or dried herb (double if you have it fresh)

2 tbsp prickly ash powder or dried herb (double if you have it fresh)

Directions:

Combine herbs in clean bowl, pot or cup. Pour 1/2 cup boiling water over herbs.

Let steep for 10 minutes. Strain through tea strainer, collecting liquid in

clean bowl. Allow to cool and discard herbs. Melt beeswax and lanolin in

heatproof glass set in simmering water. (Have a pan of water on the stove and

set the glass holding the beeswax and lanolin into the simmering water. Don't

pour it in, this is a poor man's double boiler). Add wheat germ to the beeswax

and lanolin and stir. Add herbal infusion by teaspoonful and stir until well

blended. Remove the glass from the water. Add honey to the salve and carefully

stir until well blended. Let cream cool completely.

Stir salve thoroughly and transfer it to a clean container with tight fitting

lids. (Baby food jars work well). This mixture will last up to 3 months.

It's really pretty good. I use it every now and then. I have a lot of recipes

like this, so if you're interested email me.

Have a GREAT EASTER

Susan Mitchell
