Guest guest
Alon and others, Can acu/moxa treatments be helpful in resolving frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)? There is swelling and pain in bursa for about 3 weeks. Patient is a 45 yo woman with CFIDS dx, very pale and thin (auschwitzean), depressed. She has a pale, thin small tongue; thready pulses, thin and weak in each system. Due to CFIDS weakness, she cannot exercise or do most exercise, including taiji. She occasionally tries to tone up with stretching, which is how she messed up her shoulder. She is applying fresh comfrey leaf compresses 3 x a day to the shoulder. She comes twice a week for acupuncure and moxa. An osteopathic physician has recommended a manipulation of the shoulder under general anesthesia. Her CFIDS doc says she absolutely cannot take general anesthesia. Also she is afraid of permanent injury to the shoulder through manipulation. There is so little to work with. She may be right.
