cultured cordyceps source?

Can anyone recommend a source of cultured Cordyceps fungus, in bulk 1

lb. quantities?

I've heard that this is available for $50-$70 / lb. but all I can

find on the Internet are much higher-priced encapsulated forms. A lot

of research suggests that the cultured variety can potentially be

almost as effective as the wildcrafted form depending upon how

carefully it is cultured.

I just contacted Golden Flower, my usual supplier, and they only

carry the wild-crafted form, which has become prohibitively expensive

(>$1600/lb. due to overharvested and endangered sources in Tibet).

I bring herbs back from China periodically, and cultivated cordyceps

is one of the ones that I am starting to bring back. It is a much

better price than what you are describing. Email if you want more info.

You may want to look at:

http://www.functionalfungi.com/

They cultivate many different mushroom species and sell the

" optimized biomass " of a mushroom (fruiting body and mycelium) by the

kilo.

You might also consider checking out People's Herbs. I remember that

they used to carry powdered cordyceps mycelia (and its extract) for a

pretty reasonable price. The taste is somewhat nutty, so it goes down

fairly easily. They also carry it in gelcaps, I believe.
