Guest guest
HI all, I have recently taken on a patient who has chronic sinusitis. During her intake she asked what TCM thinks about threatened miscarriage and in particular the autoimunne disease Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, which is a disease characterised by severe clotting. This patient had many miscarriages in the past before being put on low dose aspirin and heperin, which allowed her to have two children. She is interested in a third but is worried obviously about the drugs effect on her body and as well the effect that low dose aspirin might have on her baby when breast feeding (ie Reyes disease). Has anyone treated this western diagnosed condition before with TCM? IT seems obvious to me that a large element of blood stasis is at play (her tongue is actually reddish purple), but she is very nervous and would love feedback from other TCM practitioners who have had success with this, since I lack the experience. Some links she gave me about her condition and the western specialist that treated her for anyone interestred are: http://www.google.ca/search? hl=en & sa=X & oi=spell & resnum=0 & ct=result & cd=1 & q=mary+stephenson+antiphospholipi d+antibody+syndrome & spell=1 http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en & q=Antiphospholipid+antibody+syndrome & meta= She has told me that more specifically she has a high count of " anticardiolipin " antibodies in her blood. Any thoughts about the low dose aspirin and breast feeding would also be appreciated. Thanks, Trevor
