Guest guest
Great site, but I should have been more specific. I'm looking for photos of the plants, not the processed herbs. ............................................. Bill Schoenbart, L.Ac. P.O. Guest guest
Here a few sites. These companies sell Chinese herb seedlings and seeds for the grower at heart. They have photos of some Chinese Medicinal Plants. You will have to peruse through their on-line catalogs to see the images. http://www.one-garden.org/Chinese/index.htm http://www.plantitherbs.com/plant_index.htm http://www.horizonherbs.com/group.asp?grp=43 http://www.richters.com/ I have been looking around for a couple of years for an inclusive and extensive website with photos of the Chinese medicinal plants, but I have only found these catalogs. (on a side note: These are small family businesses with good plant product too!) To receive good quality images of the Chinese plants (herbs), you can go to Steven Foster's website. He charges for the images. He has also written a book titled, " Herbal Emissaries. " This book has photos of some of the Chinese medicinal plants. His website is http://www.stevenfoster.com/ Hope this helps. If you find something that may be better...please pass it on. thanks - tricia , " Bill Schoenbart " <plantmed2 wrote: > > Great site, but I should have been more specific. Guest guest
Hey Bill, These are a few pics I took while living in China, they are in a large format to show some details. This botanical herb garden is huge, I highly recommend a visit for people interested in looking at medicinal plants. It is located outside of Nanning, Guangxi province, they have more than 2000 species on display. http://www.nutraherbalsolutions.com/Herb%20Garden,%20Guangxi,%20China.htm Daniel C. Guest guest
Thomas, I'm looking for as many photos as possible to be used when teaching herb classes. Since I do a lot of substitute teaching, it could be anything in the materia medica. I have a few photos, and I can always scan them from books, but I was hoping to find high resolution photos that still look good when projected on a screen. - Bill ............................................. Guest guest
Thanks Tricia. I am familiar with all of those sites except the first one. I'll keep them in mind when I'm looking for specific photos. They are good sources for plants and seeds, and nice folks too. - Bill ............................................. Guest guest
Hi Bill, You might try Flickr. They might have plant/herbal photo club. Guest guest
Bill and anyone interested, I have around 100 individual, probably more, live plant photos of Chinese herbs. I expect to update my website over my break from school (Dec/Jan) until then if you want or need something specific I would be happy to share it with you, otherwise you will have to wait until I can come up for air long enough to take on that project. However, I do ask that you notify me if you are going to use them and that you credit me/my website when using the photos. They are all high resolution digital or scanned from slides (at high resolution).
