Par, my notes on Manjingzi from several WWW sources (including

Lotus Arts (which has a great amount of TCM data) and some in

Chinese) are at the end.

I have summarised YOUR notes on Manjingzi on a recent CHA mail as

follows:

[Par Scott]: Reinforce Chongmai; w Hbs to Quicken Xue & Tone Yin to

fill in wrinkles/lines around mouth in women; male facial hair is

equivalent to female menstrual blood; male Chongmai still collects &

holds blood & moves it up to face; beard is luxuriant when Chongmai is

clear & blood plentiful; Rectify hormonal Fxs, esp in women

(disregulated menstrual cycles & infertility with amenorrhea, breast

tenderness & PMS - manifestations of Chongmai/CV disregulation,

often w LV Qi DysFx); male facial hair & body hair is more tied to

androgens; On diagnostic side, women with facial hair issues almost

always have really bad menstrual problems which often respond to Hbs

that Course LV/Rectify Chongmai/CV & Resolve Xue Stas; Guard

Jing~semen & boost testosterone levels; most Guard Jing~semen Hbs

Astringe but Vitex is different; its TCM Fxs centre on eye problems & its

western Fxs look mainly like Gynaecological-LV related problems;

Manjingzi Rectify Qi, esp in LV/Chongmai & reproductive system; often

strong sexual frustration in sexual incontinence; that frustration builds

LV Channel Stag, w Disharmony of Ministerial Fire & subsequent wet

dreams/nocturnal emission (Mengyi/Yijing); Hbs that Clear LV Channel

Heat & Rectify Qi would avert this tragedy, while Hbs that Astringe

would allow Heat to Accumulate

Regarding Man Jing Zi's use for internal wind-heat, I noticed Tiande Yang

uses Man Jing Zi or Bai Ji Li for this purpose. I asked him how he saw the

difference, he said that Man Jing Zi is to lift Kidney yin, it is a seed so

it enters the Kidneys, but it also enters the liver. Because it is a light

seed (weight) it can float upward. Bai Ji Li rather is green and white and

favors the liver and lungs. It is more sharp (has physical points, and is

sharper or faster in its action) and is used to stimulate the Lungs (metal)

in order to control the Liver (wood).

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
