Guest guest
Besides a reference that " old texts " say not to use ba ji tian with dan shen, is there any known reason why they shouldn't be used together? Would such a warning imply not to use them together within one formula, or even if they were present in 2 separate formulas, taken at a different time during the day? Thanks, Menachem
Guest guest
Dear Menachem, I would conjecture that as Ba Ji Tian is a yang and jing supplementing herb, it would logically follow that blood moving herbs (which disperse the blood and qi) could deplete the yang and jing. However, that being said, Dan Shen also nourishes the blood so in an appropriate combination of other herbs, I don't think it would present a problem.
