Guest guest
I am seeking the dosages and ingredients for these two formulas: Zi Lan Fan, Bian Ping You. Does anyone have this info? Also, any clinical success with these or other formulas/remedies for flat warts on the face and neck for a spleen qi xu with dampness accumulation, auxilliary liver qi stasis type patient? Thanks! Guest guest
- Hey Joseph, I only have info for Zi Lan Fang. Not sure if it's the same formula you're looking for but here goes. Ma chi xian 60g, ban lan gen 30g, da qing ye 30g, yi yi ren 15g, zi cao 15g, chi shao 15g, hong hua 15g. Decocted and taken in 1 daily dose for 7-10 days. If the warts don't start to disappear in this time or if there is no change, you should consider another formula. Hope this helps, Eran Even Dr. TCM, R.Ac Coast Acupuncture & Traditional Port Coquitlam, BC -- In , " josephcurcio " <joseph wrote: > > I am seeking the dosages and ingredients for these two formulas: Zi > Lan Fan, Bian Ping You. Guest guest
There's a topical treatment you can try by crushing one of the caustic seeds (don't remember which one... ba dou I think) and applying... but after all that mess, I would rather use salicylic acid topically since you are just trying to destroy the tissue, not being holistic in this case! Another treatment was to puncture the center with a needle (tried once on a kid but they wouldn't let me do it (I don't blame them!)). I also tried burning mine off with rice grain moxa (ouch), etc etc, but it keeps coming back. It's my permanent little friend I guess. If you find something that works, let me know and I'll give 'er a go. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Even, Thank you very much. Have you any clinical experience using this formula? If so, how were the results? Also, if I were to prescribe it in granule form, what dosage do you recommend? Guest guest
Hi Joseph, no problem at all. I personally have no experience using this formula I had just found it in some of my notes. If you were to use it in granule form, I think the first step is to figure out what the concentration is (different companies, different concentrations) and go from there. If for example the ratio is 6:1 (dried to concentrate) then you would need 10g of Ma Chi Xian per day. Then just add up the amount of days you need it for and voila you've got your formula. Usually the dosage is about 1 teaspoon 3 times daily in hot water, but again check with the company. Hope that helps.
