Guest guest
A small amount of topical peppermint oil, especially with lavender oil, is great for mosquito bites, too. Stops the itching right away. Be VERY careful with peppermint oil. If you use too much, the cooling sensation will be quickly replaced with a wave of heat on the skin. It burns like hell if you use too much. It's best to use it a drop or two at a time, spreading it thinly. - Bill ............................................. Bill Schoenbart, L.Ac. P.O. Guest guest
Thanks Lynn! I may try peppermint oil with my 2nd child, who is due to get the pox next. I ended up using tea tree oil on my son – just a drop – full strength on each lesion and that seemed to help the itch and heal the lesions more quickly (due to its antiviral properties?). And I just made up an internal formula based on a suggestion from the Manual of Dermatology in (Yin Qiao San Jia Jian). Cheers, Monica , " J.
